Contractor DCT Civil Engineering is putting the final touches to a 14,100m3 storm water storage tank designed by consultant GHA Livigunn for client United Utilities.
The 25m diameter, 34m deep tank in north eastern Liverpool will hold a mixture of storm and wastewater during periods of high rainfall, and then gradually release it back to the sewer network when capacity is available. This will allow it to remove 79 properties from the flood register.
The tank features a central flushing column that will be used to clear blockages. The project is due for completion in March, six months early.
